Dragon Naturally Speaking
Dragon Naturally Speaking is a potentially life-changing speech-to-text tool. It allows you to dictate what you want to type, rather than needing to type text correctly into the computer.
Dragon Naturally Speaking is a potentially life-changing speech-to-text tool. It allows you to dictate what you want to type, rather than needing to type text correctly into the computer. Imagine being freed from the keyboard and mouse – telling the computer what to do and dictating your work without the cumbersome typing involved (as well as knowing that there will be no spelling mistakes).
Key Features:
- Very accurate, straight out of the box: While dictating, Dragon may occasionally make mistakes – but it constantly learns and adapts to your voice and environmental conditions to improve its accuracy.
- Perform tasks within Windows & Windows programs just using your voice: Opening and closing programs, navigating programs and folders, switching or minimising windows, and changing settings.
- Transcription of pre-recorded audio: Dragon Naturally Speaking can import pre-recorded dictation and then turn this into a written document. You can record your voice using a phone or dictaphone in any reasonable location and let Dragon type it up for you.
- Compatible with most Windows based programs: Including Microsoft Office, Apache OpenOffice, Google G-suite, browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox etc.
Sadly Dragon Naturally Speaking is only available for the Microsoft Windows Operating system (April 2019). We have put together a cheat sheet of all the Dragon Naturally Speaking commands, available at the link above.
