D&A celebrates two wins at the RIDI Awards!
7th December 2020 by Ellie Thompson
We are so honoured and delighted to announce that we received two awards at the RIDI (Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative) Awards on Friday night!
First, for our work fostering inclusive workplaces, we won Disability Specialist!
We were thrilled to even be nominated in this category alongside key organisations making real change in disability inclusion, inclusive recruitment and workplace schemes. To win means a recognition of our commitment to changing the world of work to ensure it’s a truly inclusive space for all!
Director of Accessibility and Inclusion Adam Hyland had this to say:
“We are over the moon with the award, and it is testament to the work we have done over the last decade. Our focus has always been to work with partners to create an anticipatory approach- with the stigma around people’s needs and not getting access, we find a lot of people only getting support when they are going through disciplinary procedures or performance reviews. At Diversity and Ability we focus on celebrating diversity and difference from the get-go, and breaking down barriers to stigma.
If we’re honest, a lot of people just survive in the workplace. But with authentic inclusion they can thrive and feel valued for the diversity they can bring. From small local charities to large energy companies, it’s about bringing a celebratory approach to inclusion.
Ultimately we work to get excited about the diversity that is already around us.”
Secondly, we were absolutely over the moon to find out that we won Greatest Impact 2020!
Emma Turner, Partnerships and Outreach Lead, captured our joy at receiving this recognition:
“Inclusion in the workplace is what we aim for day in and day out, and receiving such recognition, as winners of both Disability Specialist and Greatest Impact Awards shouts really loudly that we are doing it right! Thank you RIDI!
It builds even deeper determination within the team to grow our impact even further!”
The awards are already sitting pride of place in D&A Headquarters!
