Hi, I am Gillian and I am enthusiastic to be working with DnA. My career started in business and IT and then I retrained and became a teacher. I have a degree in Computing and Information Systems, a PGCE and a Masters in Psychology. I have taught and supported students from age 11 to 70 in different institutions.
I have been working with university students for the past 8 years and love my work. My aim is for you to be confident in your own abilities, whatever your difficulties. It is important to acknowledge your strengths and to be supported in achieving your goals. I have worked with students experiencing mental health issues and/or on the autistic spectrum. I believe that everyone has a great deal to offer and I focus on the positives and moving forward.
I am a member of The British Psychological Society (MBPsS) and the National Autistic Society. I have extensive professional and personal experience with mental health and the autistic spectrum.
When I am not working, I spend time with my husband, 3 children and my cocker spaniel dog. I enjoy drinking tea, reading, walking and travelling.
