Having volunteered and worked with students in higher education, providing academic mentoring support, Kim undertook her Masters in Inclusive Education & Disability. This provided her with a platform to interrogate the issues facing disabled students in further and higher education. Her Masters dissertation investigates the cuts to the Disabled Students Allowance. With a keen interest in technology also, she has run workshops involving both assistive and emerging technologies (VR/AR) with learners in the Manchester area.

Kim has worked closely with university students attempting to get to grips with the support and technology available to them (alongside all the conventional uni stresses!). She is passionate about making this process as smooth and pain free as possible through a empowering and welcoming approach. Kim joined DnA after realising a likeminded ethos with the organisation and looks forward to enabling learners to reach their full potential.

In her free time she likes to have a few crafty projects on the go (current theme = mosaics), squeezing in as many gigs as possible and chasing food festivals that serve Poutine (Canadian chips and gravy) around the country.
