New client wins at D&A

28th September 2020 by Ellie Thompson

While it’s been a challenging time for everyone during the lockdown, it’s also been a busy time for us at D&A as we’ve taken on some exciting new clients and projects.

Here’s just a snapshot of some of the wonderful organisations we’re working with and if you need a hand with making your organisation more inclusive, we’d love to hear from you via hello@www.diversityandability.com or 0800 978 8303.

Studio Gobo & Electric Square

Alongside our partners at Evenbreak, we reviewed these sister gaming companies’ approach to job advertising and job descriptions to ensure they are as inclusive as possible and encouraging as diverse candidates as possible to apply.

Brighton & Hove City CouncilĀ

Like so many employers, the council has had to transform their approach to recruitment to make it a virtual online process. Supporting the Learning & Development team, which has had to develop training to support staff with this new approach, to ensure their training modules and, in turn, the virtual recruitment protocol, reflect an inclusive approach.

Brighton

Utilita

A new project was undertaken to review the internal and external communications of Britain’s first smart meter energy company. D&A reviewed a broad range of marketing and communications collateral, carried out a full accessibility audit of their website and delivered intensive training with the communications and customer experience personnel, building an inclusive approach and learning from the real recommendations on their materials.

Coast to Capital (C2C)

The Local Economic Partnership for the South East region is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. Understanding that disability is key to this journey, so we are working together to support C2C to embed inclusion across all business areas of the organisation. After a Dismantling Bias session with all staff, D&A has carried out an Inclusion Maturity Review (IMR) where data and information were gathered from the client, an exploration session delved deep to assess where the organisation is currently in terms of inclusion and the vision that the organisation has. The IMR culminates in a report that sets out priorities, an activity plan to meet the vision and a feasible and realistic timeline. The next steps are to refine the plan and make it happen!

EQ InvestorsĀ

We’re supporting this B-Corp investment company, with an authentic ethical and green focus, to reflect their values within their own team and to build an authentic inclusive workplace. We are beginning the journey with EQ Investors by delivering a series of Dismantling Bias sessions to whet the appetite for the entire staff and build a sense of excitement and anticipation about making change.

HERA Partnership

This new arts and health programme delivered across Brighton & Hove, provides creative activities for people living with complex or long-term health challenges, which can be accessed for free through their GP surgery. This includes creative workshops, training, access support for low confidence, and public events to showcase the creativity and diversity of Brighton & Hove. In response to the Covid19 pandemic, D&A has been delivering virtual training for health and arts practitioners on how to deliver meaningful and inclusive support using virtual platforms like Zoom and Team. We have also been delivering 1-2-1 sessions to support neurodiverse practitioners with finding tools and strategies to enable them to thrive; using technology and offline strategies.

Clarion Housing Group

As part of Europe’s largest Housing Association’s Diversity Week, D&A is delivering a virtual session celebrating Neurodiversity in the Workplace, available to the 4,000 strong staff.

Local Authorities

We have continued to deliver our Disability Inclusion Training and Supporting Neurodiverse Staff training to Lambeth Borough Council and Brighton & Hove City Council. Adapted online during the pandemic, the training continues to bowl attendees over!
