Andrea Gibbons
Study Skills Tutor (SpLD)
Andrea has worked with people with learning differences for the last 20 years, supporting all ages in a variety of settings. For the last 5 years, they have worked in Higher Education as a specialist study skills tutor, supporting university students with specific learning differences and autistic spectrum conditions. Andrea really enjoys working with people to help them reach their full potential when they often doubt this can be achieved. They love working in this field and finds their work really rewarding and stimulating.
Andrea is currently nearing the end of their MEd (SEND) and has a particular interest in how learning differences can co-occur for many people and the impact this has on teaching and learning for university students. Andrea’s research project looks at the impact of co-occurrence on study skills sessions and how this information can be used to help support students more fully.
