Andrea Gibbons

Study Skills Tutor

I have worked with people with learning differences for the last 20 years, supporting all ages in a variety of settings. For the last 5 years I have worked in Higher Education as a specialist study skills tutor, supporting university students with specific learning differences and autistic spectrum conditions. I really enjoy working with people to help them reach their full potential when they often doubt this can be achieved. I love working in this field and find my work really rewarding and stimulating.

I am currently nearing the end of my MEd (SEND) and have a particular interest in how learning differences can co-occur for many people and the impact this has on teaching and learning for university students. My research project looks at the impact of co-occurrence on study skills sessions and how this information can be used to help support students more fully.
