April Yeatman

Projects Coordinator, Inclusive Education

April joined D&A in June 2023, as the Projects Coordinator for the Inclusive Education team. A graduate of BA International Development, she has worked in Student Experience in the university sector and volunteered with the Real Junk Food Project here in Brighton. She has long been passionate about equality, diversity, and inclusion, being part of the Amnesty Society whilst a student and leading a LGBTQ+ inclusion project in her university-based role. Joining the Inclusive Education team was a perfect way to progress her experiences and build on her passion for social justice. She is committed to removing access barriers in society and creating lasting, inclusive social change.

Born and raised in rural Dorset, she loves animals and the great outdoors. Having moved to Brighton in 2018, she now happily considers herself a Brightonian. She can often be found trying out new walking routes around the South Downs and will stop and say hello to any wildlife she encounters. As well as walking, April fills her spare time with video games, charity shopping, and reading. Let her know your book recommendations!
