Emma Morrison

Study Skills Tutor (SpLD)

Pronouns: she/her

Emma feels privileged to support students in Higher Education, having first begun work as a notetaker for students studying a diverse range of subjects, and from an assortment of  London and the Home Counties universities.

Before this, Emma worked for the NHS as an Expert Patient Programme Co-ordinator (a self-management course for people with long-term medical conditions) – a varied and interesting role.  As an SpLD tutor, Emma finds the varied styles,  approaches and methods of working very rewarding.

Emma particularly enjoys helping students succeed, not just by teaching general study skills strategies, but also stress management, public speaking and presentation skills. Emma loves learning new skills and challenging herself to ‘step out of her comfort zone’. In her spare time, Emma attended BSL Level 1 Sign Language, accredited Laughter Yoga Practitioner and even Stand Up Comedy certificate courses.  She is also a freelance Confidence Coach, enjoys sewing, and is a trained Mental Health First Aider.
