Jane Markovic

Study Skills Tutor

With a background in English and literacy teaching, Jane is a highly qualified, experienced specialist
tutor who works holistically to help students overcome any learning challenges. She has extensive
experience of working 1-1 with adults with specific learning difficulties – including dyslexia,
dyspraxia, AD(H)D, autistic spectrum disorder – and anxiety.

Jane has a friendly, flexible approach which is tailored to the needs of the individual. She quickly
identifies any barriers to learning and works with students’ strengths to develop effective strategies
and study skills. This enables them maximise their academic potential and rediscover their love of
learning.

Jane started off teaching English at secondary school, then moved into Further Education and Higher
Education, finding it more rewarding and interesting to work with adults. She began supporting
students with specific learning difficulties in 2008 and has worked with many undergraduate and
postgraduate students in receipt of the Disabled Student Allowance.
In her spare time, Jane is a keen gardener and enjoys hiking and jogging near her home in the New
Forest.
