Kate Stone


Kate has always loved books and words, and wanted to forge a career with them, so became a secondary school English teacher. A change in direction led to teaching in an adolescent mental health unit which provided useful insight into how poor mental health can affect a student’s ability to learn. She now works with students from GCSE, FE, and HE level, specialising in literacy and organisation. The challenge of creating this blurb has made her realise that writing biographies is not her thing, although fortunately she does really enjoy looking at essays on an eclectic array of subjects, which is why she likes her role as a D&A Study Skills Tutor.

Apart from that she is partial to cake, cocktails and walking – although she is fully aware that only one of them is really good for her…
