Disability Services Coordinator

Pronouns: She/her

Shen is one of our Disability Services Coordinators at Diversity and Ability – a neurodiverse individual of Indian descent, who brings a unique perspective to her role.

Having personally experienced the detrimental effects of a lack of support in the catering industry where she has spent the last 10 years, Shen is deeply passionate about providing assistance to disabled and neurodiverse people in the classroom and workplace. She strongly believes that everyone deserves equal opportunities and a nurturing environment to thrive in their educational and professional pursuits.

Outside of her professional life, Shen indulges in a couple of exciting hobbies. One of her favourite pastimes is spinning fire, a mesmerizing and daring art form that allows her to express herself creatively while embracing an element of danger. Additionally, Shen enjoys channelling her creativity into making handmade chocolates at home. There’s something truly fulfilling about crafting delicious treats from scratch and sharing them with loved ones.

When it comes to personal preferences, Shen has a strong affinity for metal music, drawn to its raw energy and powerful lyrics. And yes, you can definitely say that Shen has a special place in her heart for potatoes. Whether they’re mashed, fried, or roasted, potatoes have an uncanny ability to make any meal feel complete.

In summary, Shen is a passionate Disability Services Coordinator who is dedicated to empowering disabled and neurodiverse students. Beyond work, Shen finds joy in spinning fire, creating handmade chocolates, immersing herself in the world of metal music, and savouring the humble potato.
