Study Skills Tutor
Hi, I’m Vicky and I’ve been supporting students, as a study skills tutor, in the HE sector for 9 years. Before this I was a Director of my own IT business for 8 years. I am also an Assistive Technology Trainer, Dyslexia Assessor and carry out Workplace Needs Assessments.
I love to help students fulfil their potential and see them succeed. I look forward to meeting students each week and seeing them progress with their studies. It’s so rewarding to see people develop the confidence and skills needed to go into the workplace or continue to study at higher levels if they choose to.
It’s a joy to be a new member of the D&A team and I look forward greatly to meeting and helping new students.
My hobbies and interests include visiting historical houses and castles, walking in the Peak District, movies and reading. My real love (in my spare time) is music. I have been playing saxophone in big bands for over 30 years and have been singing jazz for 9 years. I sing lead with a barbershop chorus and have recently become an assistant section leader which means I get to help members improve their singing skills and confidence.
