Study Skills Tutor (SpLD)
Vicky has been supporting students, as a study skills tutor, in the HE sector for 9 years. Before this, they were a Director of their own IT business for 8 years. Vicky is also an Assistive Technology Trainer, Dyslexia Assessor and carries out Workplace Needs Assessments.
Vicky loves to help students fulfil their potential and see them succeed. They look forward to meeting students each week and seeing them progress with their studies. It’s so rewarding to see people develop the confidence and skills needed to go into the workplace or continue to study at higher levels if they choose to. Vicky looks forward greatly to meeting and helping new students!
Their hobbies and interests include visiting historical houses and castles, walking in the Peak District, movies and reading. Vicky’s real love (in their spare time) is music. Vicky has been playing saxophone in big bands for over 30 years and has been singing jazz for 9 years. Vicky sings lead with a barbershop chorus and has recently become an assistant section leader which means they get to help members improve their singing skills and confidence.
